Comfort for America’s Uniformed Services (Cause) offers programs that support recreation, relaxation and resiliency reach thousands of injured service men and women facing months of medical care and rehabilitation far from home and family. These programs are designed to bring a bit of relaxation and fun into what are, for many, very challenging circumstances. But they also serve a much more serious purpose: that of helping wounded warriors begin the normalization process and the re-entry to home and community as they take their long journey back to health.

Cause is a small but growing nonprofit organization with an office staff of four, seven local program coordinators, and approximately 400 volunteers running our programs. As word about Cause and our programs have spread, the military is now asking for Cause programs to be installed at specific locations. Programs being offered are: Massage, Reiki & Spa Day programs; Brunches, Picnics & Dinners; Gift Packs; Hospital Game Carts; Sporting Event Broadcasts; and Nurses Appreciation.

Cause programs take place on the campuses of military medical facilities in the United States and in Germany. Currently, Cause programs are available to approximately 35% of the warrior transition unit population; with the planned expansion we hope to reach approximately 45% of the warrior transition unit population. Cause received the Certificate of Appreciation for Patriotic Civilian Service from the Department of the Army for contributions by Cause volunteers and for programs designed to bring comfort and recreation into the lives of Army Warriors and families taking the long journey back to health.
