Civil rights icon and my pastor Rev Benjamin Hooks my pastor when I was going to black church has died.He was like a older brother to me.His members showed me love, and took care of me during some hard times I was having. And God put it in my heart to return the favor, which made the foundation of my belief "that you are better off helping someone who wants to be helped".My appreciation for what they did motivated me to study the scriptures to show myself approved. And Rev Hooks whom we called Ben taught me to stand against opposition and depend on God's unchanging hand to guide me.I'll miss him but I'll never forget him.He was the closest man I had too a big brother. If I loved you, he loved you too.God bless his wife and family. The old guard is moving on having laid the foundation for the children of the struggle to fight on to level the playing field.Thank God I had the opportunity to meet and know him.God sent me a blessing in the name of my big brother Rev.Benjamin Hooks.
