African-Americans are more likely to develop cancer than any other racial/ethnic group in the United States. African Americans are almost twice as likely to die of cancer than any other minority group, and 20% more likely than whites. The frequency of premenopausal breast cancer in African-American women is twice the rate of Caucasians.
