Dan serves as the Regional Director for the Truman Project's chapter in New England. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as an Infantry Officer for five years ending 2010. Throughout his military career, Dan served 27 months deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and has commanded at the Platoon and Company levels. Dan completed his service as an Aide to the Chief of Staff of the Operational Headquarters of U.S. forces in Iraq. For his service, he was twice awarded the Bronze Star Medal, as well as the Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Ranger Tab.

After completing a Masters in Public Policy at Harvard where he was a Rappaport Public Policy Fellow and a Tillman Military Scholar, Dan began working with urban youth to close the opportunity divide as the Director of Operations and Strategy at Year Up, a national non-profit based in Boston. Dan holds a strong belief that education and economics can create sustainable peace, and has attempted to make his own local change through education. Dan is currently a candidate for School Committee in Somerville, MA.
