In this episode, Sasha Ottey speaks to Lifetime Adoption founder, Mardie Caldwell about adoption options for infertile couples.

Mardie Caldwell, C.O.A.P., is a nationally recognized authority on adoption. A Certified Open Adoption Practitioner, and author of several award winning books. Caldwell is the founder of the nationwide adoption organization Lifetime Adoption Center, LLC., established in 1986. Caldwell has assisted in over 1,800 successful adoptions and was one of the first adoption professionals on the Internet. Caldwell’s life work has been dedicated to educating and helping birth parents and adoptive parents through teaching, speaking, and as a radio talk show host. Caldwell is also CFO of Lifetime Adoption Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit offering grants to couples seeking to adopt.

Caldwell has experienced first hand the emotional pain of infertility, having been on 'both sides' with the loss of seven pregnancies and then conceiving a daughter by new technology. Caldwell also has one adopted son. It is Caldwell's goal to share with families the methods and plans which succeed and do not succeed. It is also her belief that adoption should be affordable and can be a wonderful 'pregnancy' for the adoptive couple.

Caldwell has appeared more than 150 times on various networks including NBC’s The Today Show, CNN, MSNBC, Fox, PBS, BBC, Dr. Laura, numerous national radio interviews, and is widely sought for print articles and speaking.
