Pluralistic CommUNITY of the Guiding Light

United States, EnglishReligion

The Pluralistic CommUNITY of the Guiding Light is an innovative, pluralistic approach to spirituality that embraces ALL religions -- and atheists and agnostics, too! What’s in a name? Well the first name I thought of for my online ministry was The Ecumenical Church of God. But although ecumenism refers to initiatives toward greater religious unity or cooperation -- even in its broadest sense it typically includes only the three “Abrahamic” faiths of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. And more narrowly, it only refers to greater unity among religious denominations. Since the goal here is to embrace ALL faiths -- and lack thereof -- “pluralistic” seemed most appropriate. For the same reasons, I opted for “commUNITY” instead of church, mosque, synagogue, or temple. Ditto for the term “guiding light”. Most “spiritual beings” who disbelieve in a God (or are unsure of his existence), will concede the existence of an internal force, conscience, or “guiding light” that leads them. AND since, trillions of people pray everyday, invoking the name of numerous deities -- and receive the help they seek -- perhaps WE are more concerned with name usage than God is! The first half hour of these one-hour segments will typically be devoted to me and any guest(s) espousing our knowledge with the listener call-in lines opening in the second half of the show. The call-in number is: (646) 929-0061.
