Rabbi Nachum Shifren
A California native and a graduate of UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Spanish and German literature who continued his graduate studies in West Germany at the University of Goettingen.
He has been a language teacher in Los Angeles City schools since 1992 and his controversial book, "Kill Your Teacher", documentsthe breakdown in Dorsey High School where he taught in an atmosphere of threats, violence, and corruption.
He has been featured in People magazine, LA Times and many other international publications. He has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN, Phil Donohue, JTN, Fox TV, Deutsche Welle TV, Dutch, Spanish and Canadian National TV, NPR, KNX, KBRT and KFI radio.
He has declared his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in 2012, and is the only candidate to openly pledge to oppose the advent of Sharia law in the United States. "My candidacy is about preserving our Constitution, safeguarding individual liberties, shrinking government, English only in our schools, securing our border and stopping the dilution of our American culture and language. It is time we deport all those that have immigrated to our country that wish to do harm to American citizens or property." Known for his no-nonsense approach to education, working on behalf of small businesses and prison reform, he is in his own class of patriotism and staunch conservative values.
