Laurell Hall will be our guest Sunday 7pm central. Please come support this mother. May 9, 1994 started off like any ordinary day. Eighteen year old Cleashindra Hall-Clea to her friends and family, left her home for her clerical job with Dr. Larry Amos, a dentist in Pine Bluff, AR. At around 8:00, Clea called her mother to check in. It was the last time Laurell Hall would ever hear from her daughter.

Being one of hundreds (perhaps thousands) of journalists assigned to cover the Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama was quite a thrill for fellow radio host Stephanie Marion of Michigan, as well as myself. The people we met and stories we heard told us America was desperate for a change and they thought Mr. Obama was, by far, the better choice. It didn't matter that he was African-American. He had a message of hope---a message of change. On the next edition of Passions on BlogTalk Radio, Stephanie and I will share our eyewitness to history. One instance that stands out in my mind is a conversation I overhead while standing in a LONG LINE to get on the Metro (train) following the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. A man behind me said, “I can’t believe I drove all the way from Michigan to see the Inauguration on a TV screen.” He then smiled and added, “But it was worth every minute of it. I’m glad I was here!” President Obama has a huge task ahead of him. What can he accomplish? What are YOU willing to do to help? I invite you to call in and offer your thoughts on Sunday, January 26 from 7pm-8pm EST. The number os 347-324-3935 or you can listen right from your computer: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/passions. I'll see you on the radio!

Research has shown that one out of every four prison inmates will return to prison within one to three years o his or her release. But one man was determined not to become a part of that statistic.
Randy Kearse, who was once deemed a menace to society by a judge who sentenced him to 15 years in 1992, returned to society with a new perspective, a fresh focus, and strong determination to succeed.
Twenty years ago, Randy Kearse was raking in the big bucks as a drug dealer with a staff of 25 dedicated employees. He said the money was coming in so fast, it was hard to keep up with how much he was really making.
But that all changed in 1992 when he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Please join me on the next edition of my show Passions when I talk with Kearse about how he turned his mess into a message. He is now the best selling author of the book: Changin’ Your Game Plan! How to Use Incarceration as a Stepping Stone for Success.
This is another show in my 2009 Make Your Mess Your Message Series on BlogTalk Radio. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/passions

Start the New Year off with a spiritual boost and the woman affectionately known as Rev. Ora.
Join BlogTalk Radio Host Beverly Mahone as she welcomes Rev. Ora as her first guest in 2009. Mahone says having Rev. Ora as a guest has become a tradition. “For the past three years I have invited her to do my show because of her message. Her words are so powerful and uplifting and an absolute perfect way to bring in the New Year.”
Ora Stearns-Smith is an anointed preacher, teacher and writer who is using her creative God-given talent to spread a message of hope and inspiration. She is a cutting-edge Visionary, Minister, Author, Beyond-Motivational Speaker, Poet, Inventor, Designer and Founder of Ora International. Mahone says the audience is in for a real treat when they tune in for this special edition of her show. “We’re going to be talking about how to make your mess your message in 2009,” according to Mahone. Topics will include re-building low self-esteem and finding your divine purpose.
Passions is the name of Mahone’s show, which normally airs Mondays from 12pm-1pm EST on BlogTalk Radio. For this show only, the date and time has been changed to Sunday, January 4 at 7pm EST. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/passions
