OK...that's probably not something you would say to your mate but if you're going to be honest and real, that is the case sometimes when it comes to intimacy. Vaginal Dryness is one of the symptoms associated with menopause.
As women age, there is a decrease in our hormone levels which causes changes in our vaginal tissue. It becomes thinner and less elastic. Nearly half of all women between the ages of 40 and 59 will experience vaginal dryness. There is less vaginal wetness even when women become aroused.
But not every woman is blaming menopause for their lack of sexual desire. There are plenty of baby boomer women who enjoy intimacy with their mates and have no problem expressing their desires. Who says you can’t be a Christian woman and love sex? On my upcoming show on BlogTalk Radio, I’m going to talk to a woman who describes herself this way:
I am a conservative Christian wife and mother and I love sex. Every Sunday morning, I attend church. Every school morning, I take my son to school. Every weekday afternoon, I kiss my husband when he gets home from work. Every evening, I cook supper for my family, and almost every night, I close my bedroom door to partake in my favorite cardio activity: sex.
This was taken from an excerpt Leslie Niswonger wrote for a newspaper in Kansas. Needless to say, the article has created quite a stir in this small rural town where her father is a Free Methodist preacher. Why shouldn't be free to express her innermost desires?
Somehow it has become an oxymoron to be a Christian woman and sexual.
