Passionate Parenthttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/parentworldconnectBlack Parent Now An open forum for black families of our new era.  We, as black parents, need to take control of our home and our families' legacy.  As a group of people, and as a race, I believe we have lagged behind in society because (1)we have stopped valuing education as the prime driver behind social development and empowerment,(2) we still allow ourselves to be mentally imprisoned by old prejudices and social norms, thus effectively creating significant obstacles to real integration into mainstream society, and (3) successful blacks have failed to sufficiently invest both emotional and financial resources to help overall improvement of the black communities. The dream means that in order to achieve and become proud members of our society, we need to aim higher and more boldly.  It is more than quoting statistics of black achievements and "firsts".   I truly do not believe that Dr King, And Marcus Gravy were dreaming about us in the way the stats show us today. Start here and now and let's make a change.  Start the dialogue and action by helping others  in our race, whether Spanish, Caribbean or European blacks.  We need to do better.  The time is now. enCopyright Marie Douglas (C/O Blogtalkradio)Sat, 15 Jun 2019 04:00:00 GMTTue, 15 Jun 2010 20:00:00 GMTParentsBlogTalkRadio Feed v2.0https://dasg7xwmldix6.cloudfront.net/hostpics/231c8c13-2ec6-4a5b-9466-d4ab711c3310_parentworld_p.jpgPassionate Parenthttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/parentworldconnectBlack Parent Now An open forum for black families of our new era.
