Join William E. Rogers, host of Parents and PGCPS eRadio on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 7:30pm as he discusses the challenges and obstacles faced by Parents of Ill or Pregnant Students as they continue to support the academic efforts of their children.  William will be joined by Beth McCracken-Harness and Lisa Brooks-Wilkins, founders of  Prince George's County Parents of Ill or Pregnant Students also known as PGPIPS.  PGPIPS is a parent group designed to unite, support and encourage positive outcomes for ill or pregnant students, their families and local education systems. It includes all populations with healthcare needs that impact their education (chronically, acutely, mentally and physically ill students, as well as those who are pregnant or parenting).

In the second half, William’s guest will be Dawn Stems, Prince Georges County, MD Residents & Businesses Toys for Tots Coordinator. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause. Ms. Stems will share the need for toy and cash donations during this time of the year and how the generosity of “Holiday Givers”, impact the lives of children throughout Prince George’s County.
