Listen to the Sun. April 21, 2019 edition of the Pan-African Journal: Worldwide Radio Broadcast hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. The program features our regular PANW report with dispatches on the 39th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Zimbabwe in Southern Africa; the South African national election campaigns are heating up with the African National Congress presidential incumbent Cyril Ramaphosa traveling across the country seeking votes which will continue the government of the ruling party; Egyptians are voting on a referendum to extend the presidency of Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi; and Tunisia has intercepted several Europeans coming into the country from the troubled state of Libya. During the second and third hours we will pay tribute to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of Africa, the former Leader of Government Business, Prime Minister and President of the First Republic of Ghana. We will examine some aspects of the life, times and contributions of Nkrumah from the 1940s through the early 1970s when he made his transition on April 27, 1972.
