Listen to the Sun. June 24, 2018 special edition of the Pan-African Journal: Worldwide Radio Broadcast hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. The program features our regular PANW report with dispatches on the aftermath of the assassination attempt against Republic of Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa; Ethiopian authorities announced that 30 people have been questioned in connection with an assassination attempt on the recently-seated Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed; the Commonwealth of Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) is initiating a project aimed at empowering women; and political fallout continues in the United States over the treatment of refugees seeking political asylum who have been detained indefinitely along with their children. In the second hour we look at the political economy of Detroit through a rebroadcast of Moving Forward featuring host Abayomi Azikiwe which aired originally last November over the Progressive Radio Network (PRN).
