Join The Arc of Luzerne County for a conversation with Mary Anderson Hartley, Project Manager for 21 and Able at United Way of Allegheny County. 21 and Able is working to build a better roadmap for youth with disabilities as they transition to adulthood by developing public policy and advocating with local, state and national partners to ensure system change; creating a public awareness campaign to draw attention to the urgency to the issues and implementing projects that address the needs of youth and families through effective programs and services. Before her work at United Way, Mary was the Manager of ACHIEVA’s Disability Healthcare Initiative, a statewide stakeholder effort in Pennsylvania to increase access to health care for individuals with disabilities. She has worked with teams across the state to develop viable solutions in healthcare resulting in policy, legislation, multiple accessible educational tools, advocacy, and media. Mary co-authored book chapter on oral health access for Springer Handbook on Children with Special Health Care Needs  and several legislative papers. Mary is the mother of a fourteen- year old son with autism just beginning transition. Connect with 21 and Able on Facebook and Twitter
