In almost twenty years of Service, what was nearly never ever emphasized, no matter how many of our fellow members experienced it-was what to really expect in transitioning from the military.  Be it through an involuntary retention point separation, a mainstream retirement, or medical conditions leading to retirement from the military-all Servicemembers go through this rite of passage in one way or another, unless they make the Ultimate Sacrifice.  Transition seemed to be something to think on later, much, much later.  Until later is Now-then What?  My learning curve has become a key trigger to my anxiety attacks, at times exacerbating my feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, and engaging with some folks in the process whose questionable good intentions often leave me with a feeling of worthlessness-As if they are attempting to reduce my sacrifices, my honorable Service to the value of their administrative beaurocracy and suspenses. My hope is that you, in whatever phase you are in your transition, will fare better from my lessons learned on the go and just maybe experience a bit less anxiety to none at all when possible.  Stay Blessed!
