Mental skills trainer Carrie Cheadle joins us to discuss, not just setting goals but actually accomplishing them.  Is achieving your goal enough or do you find yourself needing to do more?  Do you allow yourself to enjoy the accomplishiment?  We'll go into the definition of success.

As an athlete, have you ever:

  • Been so nervous before a game or race that it had a negative impact your performance?
  • Had trouble getting motivated to workout or train?
  • Lost confidence in yourself coming back to your sport after an injury or wondered if you’ll be as competitive as you were before your injury?
  • Had a bad performance and carried it with you into your next competition?
  • Walked away from a performance knowing that you could have done better?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions – you are not alone.  More athletes and coaches are recognizing the powerful impact the mind has on their sport performance.  Physical skill alone is not enough to deal with the demands of being an athlete. An increasing number of athletes are utilizing Mental Skills Training (MST) to improve their confidence and feel more in control of their performance in their sport
