A man I never heard of until just over a week ago was executed by the state of Georgia.  It has had media attention nationally and internationally with people calling for a stay of his execution and the reexamination of the evidence.  Ultimately Troy Davis was put to death with his trial.

This story has become more than Troy Davis and his case but has reopened the debate on the Death Penalty.  We know that more people of color and poor people receive the longest prison sentences and typically have the worst legal representation.  As the biggest and greatest democracy on earth, is it time for America to abolish the death penalty?

Detroit Michigan has led the country in unemployment for years now.  The city has seen a major decline in population and even dropped below a million occupants.  Detroit has also suffered as a result of the housing bubble that burst.  You can purchase houses in decent communities for $40,000 of less.    It has gotten so bad that Mayor Bing is asking all residents to move out of their current residences away from t of the city and to move into the downtown area.

If Las Vegas doesn't diversify and improve its educational system is Detroit our future?
