Chief Blue Star Eagle was born to Chief Black Spotted Horse and Beautiful Sun Dance Woman (Adalbert Zephier & Mildred Blacksmith-Heth-Zephier) on the Yankton Sioux Indian reservation in South Dakota, USA As his life progressed, he became more active in his cultural lifestyle and Spiritual Teachings. Since his first Sun Dance in 1973, he has continued to take part in the annual Sun Dance ceremony of the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota Nation, and still assists in many of their traditional ceremonies today. He continues to work on his spiritual growth and work in fulfilling his Spiritual Responsibilities by helping to run the annual All Nations Sun Dance amongst the Mesquakie Nation. This Sun Dance Altar has been called the Star Nations ceremony.
Estellene Zephier, BS.,SW. “Walks With New Beginning Woman” grew up on the Crow Creek Dakota Reservation, amongst her Hunkpati relatives where she gained a deep sense of pride in her culture and heritage. She carries that pride with her as she does her work for Mother Earth. She appreciates her responsibility in imparting universal human values and respects the nobility of the human spirit.
