Stuart led his high school in first-ever, northern states school “busing” racial integration (1966-67) as his  most-proud “cross-cultural” accomplishment. 

From 1977-79, he, founded one of the earliest of yoga-holistic centers in the US, co-created the first E-W trance-chant band in the US, wrote and administered Federal grants ($1.5M in 2013 dollars) for first-ever,juvenile incarceration yoga-meditation, soil-reclamation gardening, wilderness camping, in-school meditationflophouse psychiatric yoga and music therapy projects.

Stuart is currently copresident of the Association for Transpersonal Psychology and was lead-producer of the forty-country, World Congress on Psychology and Spirituality in India, 2008, where the Office of the Dalai Lama assigned the Prime Minister of Tibet (L. Samdong) to keynote.

He has performed Sanskrit chanting in hundreds of conferences, ceremonies and retreats, worldwide, and have led Holocaust Healing (Freiburg) and Post-apartheid Healing (Johannesburg) chanting events and was secretly flown to Slovenia, post-911, to chant over the dying chair of Unaligned Nations of the World, Janez Drnovsek and has led seven kundalini and tantra retreats in Moscow.

Dr Sovatsky has authored the “History of East-West Psychology (Euro-Hinduism)” chapter for the Columbia University Desk Companion on Eastern Religion, edited and at the request of Robert Thurman, Words From the Soul: Time, E/W Spirituality and Psychotherapeutic Narrative, and the 2014  The Art of Advanced Spiritual Intimacy and the Love poem, Your Perfect Lips.
