The Year at the Oscars series continues, moving on to the year 1941. It is one of the years where the Academy's reasoning in their Best Picture choice is probably under the most question: HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY over the film almost universally regarded as the greatest ever made, CITIZEN KANE, the revolutionary film by Orson Welles. We'll discuss why they made that decision, analyzing both films, as well as revisiting the music of the time, and other movies from that year.
