In a new series celebrating 40 years of Lifetime Achievement Award ceremonies presented by the American Film Institute, hear the actual audio of the acceptance speeches by these recipients. AFI Lifetime Award recipients have often used their acceptance speeches to offer some very keen insight on the film industry they helped form and its future, so what better way than to learn from the legends. Tonight, in Part 1, we hear from the first ten years of the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, and learn from the likes of John Ford, Orson Welles, Henry Fonda, Jimmy Stewart, Fred Astaire, Frank Capra, James Cagney, and Alfred Hitchcock.
