Oakland Community Action Network The Oakland Community Action Action ( Oakland C.A.N ) is a for-profit organization that is taking a new approach to building and sustaining neighborhood community power in Oakland. By linking progressive in precint-focused group in a city-wide network, we plan to change our lives, and those of our neighbors, for the better. Oakland C.A.N will merge political debate and progressive community activities with various forms of community economics. Goals collectively, the neighborhood group within Oakland C.A.N will: 1. Establish annual priorities of the need of individual neighborhoods and of Oakland as a whole 2. Develop strategies to meet those needs 3. Compile an annual Oakland Book which will describe the collective vision 4.
