Dan Paquette, 20 years old, currently studying at Umass Lowell with a degree of criminal justice. Probably one of my biggest struggles I have had is dealing with a shoulder injury for the past 5 years this spring that has required 4 surgeries on it. That has been a big part of me because that is 1/4 of my life and it has effected me alot in many ways. I started trying to get into acting last year when they filmed The Fighter here in Lowell and from that I've been in 2 more movies, Adam Sandler's Grown Ups and Tom Cruise's Knight & Day.

Hello one and all! As you can surmise by this post, spring is back! But most importantly baseball season is getting ready to go into full swing! Ha ha. get it? Full Swing?
Anyway, once again Sports Mama is headed down to sunny, Orlando Florida to kick off the sports season with the MattRuss Baseball tournament. Suffolk University is once again looking dynamite and ready to explode onto the scene and make a run to go all the way this season.
Senior Jose Alejandro is determined to make this his, and most importantly, the team's best season yet.
The Suffolk Rams, or mutts, as they call themselves arrived in Orlando later last night and have their first practice this afternoon at 2:00 PM.
Their tournament kicks off tomorrow, Friday, March 12 at 12 PM at Tenoroc High School against Husson Maine.
The rest of the schedule is as followed:
Saturday March 13-vs Rhode Island College (doubleheader) @ 3:00 PM at Lake Myrtle # 2
Sunday March 14 vs Wheaton (MA) 3:30 PM @ Lake Myrtle # 4
Monday March 15-vs Rowan (NJ) 11:30 AM @ Pat Thomas Stadium
Tuesday March 16- Practice (practice means practice people, no side trips to Disney, I'm just saying!)
Wednesday March 17-vs Ripon (WI) 3:30 PM @ Chains of Lakes # 1
Thursday March 18-vs Westfield State(MA) (doubleheader) @ Webber International U.
Friday March 19-vs Rampo (NJ) 9:30 AM @ Chains of Lakes # 4
The final game of the tournament will be:
Saturday March 20-vs Amherst (MA) 9:30 AM @ Chains of Lakes # 3.
If there are any changes to the schedule or the venues I will update the schedule accordingly.

I also will have a player, Brandon, from my old College Bunker Hill Community college call in and update us on their tournament in South Carolina. Their team is ranked 7th in the Nation for community college teams and last year they were one game away from qualifying for the college world series in their division. This year they are hungry and have a great chance of going the whole way!

You can talk to me and I will probably just tune you out, not because I don't care, but because I do not like being yelled at. All kidding aside this should be a great experience and I have a feeling this is going to be the beginning of a beautiful season!!
