Winner of the ACT New Writer Award, Arvada New Work Festival Best Original Play Award and one of the winners of National Poetry Month 2006 Palabra Press Award, Brenda Petrakos is a writer performer from Los Angeles, California. Her prose & flash fiction has been published in "Voices Of Women Writers" by Duke University Press, "Poetic Diversity" by Diversity Press, "Literary Angels" by Sybaritic Press, "Falling Stars Literary Magazine", the "Joy In Mudville" Hollywood Anthology by Metropolis Hopper Books, "After Words" and "Everything About You Is Beautiful" by Really Big Show Productions, and the Colbalt Poetry Series among other publications. Her work has also been featured on the "World Wide Word Network,” Kill Radio, & The Larry Winfield Show. Her short story Welcome to Heaven is currently in development as a major motion picture.
