Join Rafael as he talks to Khadijah Queen & Samantha Thornhill about their project SPACE: simultaneous public acts of creative expression ABOUT THE ARTISTS Visual artist and writer Khadijah Queen is the author of a poetry collection, Conduit (Black Goat/Akashic Books 2008). Individual poems appear or are forthcoming in jubilat, InPosse Review, Drunken Boat, and Fire and Ink: An Anthology of Social Action Writing. The recipient of fellowships from Cave Canem and Squaw Valley Community of Writers, her poetry has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize three times. She currently lives in Florida and curates the reading series Courting Risk. Samantha Thornhill is a poet and a rising voice in the world of words. Her performance poem, Little Odetta, inspired by the late folk legend, is forthcoming from Scholastic Press in the form of a picture book. Also, her young adult novel Seventeen Seasons will soon be published by Penguin Books. Samantha currently teaches poetry to first year acting students in the drama division at the Juilliard School. She lives in Brooklyn.
