Join Mende as she talks To Luke Salazar Luke Salazar's poetry has appeared in such publications as Chiron Review, The Ledge, Re)verb, Spot Literary Magazine, Vulcan, San Pedro River Review, MEAT Magazine (UK), Rip Rap, River's Voice, and many others. Luke's poetry and fiction have won him several scholarships and awards, including the 2009 Working People’s Poetry Contest by Partisan Press for his poem "Black Friday." He graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 2009 with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, and is currently working on his first chapbook. He has also completed a full-length screenplay about the auto repossession business, having been mired in the industry for nearly 20 years. Luke Salazar has been (or continues to be) a repo man, skiptracer, database programmer, forklift driver, private investigator, and (occasionally) a writer. His interests include vegetarian cooking, yoga, auto repair, Karaoke, and spending time with his dog and four cats.
