Have you ever wondered why we wait so long to take care of a health concern. Too many of us rather die than see a doctor. Then there are those of us who are always at the doctor. We know something is wrong but we can't figure out what. Both scenarios apply to racism in our country. It is killing us but we won't seek help. For those of us who know it's there, we are not pinpointing exactly what the problem is so all of our attempts to heal fail. Perhaps the discomfort has not reached the critical stage. Perhaps we need a fatal diagnosis before we will begin to choose effective ways to heal ourselves. I'm the family member that's saying we need professional help. I hope enough of you will listen to me so that we can begin to properly and effectively ease the discomfort but also heal ourselves. See you at the kitchen table, my family.
