How Religion and Spirituality Influence Health and Politics- Part 2

Once in awhile we find those projects that we believe have great potential to significantly impact the political, social and economic systems of our nation and even the world according to outcomes of the findings. This interest in Religiosity and Spirituality as an influence with health and behaviors is one that has far reaching applications. The complexity of the various cultures in America make it a difficult task to even establish an objective platform upon which to launch such a study. At the same time it is apparent that similar studies have already shaped the premise that such an endeavor is even plausible. As we continue with Part 2 we will seek to uncover if people can transcend their own religious and political beliefs to gain a consensus understanding regarding how religion and spirituality are defined as well as how to validate an exploration of its effects on health and politics. This program will explore the questions 1) What is religion? 2) What is the connection between Religion and Spirituality? 3) What factors do people use in choosing to practice a religion or spirituality? 4) Is there a religion or spiritual practice that is best for addressing health issues? 5) How does religion or spirituality influence political views?
