Dontay Muhammad is originally from Philadelphia, PA and is the oldest of 4 children. During his childhood years he attended Muhammad’s Islamic Academy (Philadelphia MUI) and continued until high school. He graduated HS from First Coast Academy at the age of 14 and went to Community College of Philadelphia right after. After spending 2 years at community college he transferred to Drexel University where he joined The National Society of Black Engineers and later transferred to another university. He is currently a Mechanical Engineering student at the illustrious North Carolina A&T State University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Throughout his time in college he has participated in numerous organizations, most notably The National Society of Black Engineers where he served as the Regional Parliamentarian and Regional Academic Excellence Chair for Region 2. He has also gained internship experience at companies such as Rockwell Automation and General Electric where he has worked as Manufacturing Engineering intern and a Design Engineering intern. After graduation Dontay plans to take up a career in commercial HVAC design and obtain his Engineering in Training license in preparation to becoming a professional engineer to one day develop and grow his own independent firm.
