DEVIN ALEXANDER and CHEF CHELA VALLADOLID

Devin Alexander, NY Times bestselling author, is the host of  "America's Chefs on Tour," which premiered on PBS stations recently. Devin’s unique approach to healthy cooking and her motivational personal story have landed her appearances on more weight loss and fitness shows than any other food expert or nutritionist in America.  Having maintained her 70-pound weight loss for over 16 years, she lives and eats her message: you don’t have to deprive yourself to be fit and healthy. She has appeared on over fifteen shows and major networks and been featured in over 400 magazines.

Devin now consults for major U.S. food and cookware companies.  She’s on the Advisory Board of the American Culinary Federation’s Chef Child Foundation, Larry King Foundation’s Go-To-Chef to speak on “Obesity in America,” and she recently returned from the White House as part of Michelle Obama’s, Chefs Move To Schools Program.  Her food line, DevinlyDelites™, is currently in the works and later this year she plans to launch a major charity initiative.

 

"Chef Chela" was raised to be passionate about food, having grown up around expert and traditional cooks in Tijuana, Mexico. Working at her aunt's cooking school in Baja, Mexico, She wanted to pursue this growing love for food full time and enrolled in the Los Angeles Culinary Institute, and later graduated from the Ritz Escoffier Cooking School in Paris, as a classical French pastry chef.

She eventually parlayed her classical training and abilities to become a food editor at "Bon Appétit" magazine.  Hosting her own cooking show, on Discovery en Español channel, she earned a spot as a contender on "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart." In 2009, The author of two cookbooks, she is the host of "Mexican Made Easy" on Food Network.
