MEATBALL MASTER DANIEL MANCINI

Daniel, a Brooklyn native, spent thirty years in the clothing industry before leaving in 2007 to follow his dream: to launch a meatball company based on his Grandma Anna’s family recipe that she taught him when he was 15 years old. Believing so much in the comfort food that simmered for hours every Sunday in his Grandma’s Brooklyn house, Daniel wanted to send people back to the dinner table, and he went for ibt in the worst economic times.

He made one believer after another starting with his neighbor who used to run Alpine Lace to buyers at Whole Foods and Fresh Market, and even landing them in Martha Stewart's hands. After tasting them herself, she quickly invited him on her show. What he originally thought to be a quick end-of-show appearance turned out having him as the first guest for a full 30 minutes. Sales skyrocketed, and Daniel was well on his way to becoming the Meatball King. With only eight ingredients, hard work, good exposure and a little luck, Daniel has gone from making 50,000 meatballs a month a year ago, to 300,000 that he expects will become 700,000 per month by mid-year.

The year 2010 was declared the Year of the Meatball. And today, the product called Mama Mancini’s Meatballs and Sunday Sauce is spreading nationwide and just experienced a 300% growth spurt this year.
