SUSAN FENIGER: STREET FOOD

Inspired by a love for bold flavors and strong statements, Susan Feniger has mader her mark in the culinary world with home cooking from all over the world. For over two decades, Susan and her business partner, Mary Sue Milliken, have transformed street foods and comfort foods into critically acclaimed cuisine and become some of the country's foremost authorities on the Latin kitchen.

Susan and Mary Sue opened "City Cafe" on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles in 1981, quickly outgrowing the space, and moving to a larger site, where they opened, "CITY." In 1985, the partners turned the cafe site into "Border Grill," serving authentic home cooking and street foods of Mexico. It, too, outgrew the tiny space, and in 1990 moved to its current home in Santa Monica, serving modern Mexican food in an urban setting. In 1998, they opened "Ciudad" in downtown Los Angeles, and in 1999, the "Border Grill" concept grew to encompass another restaurant at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Susan and Mary Sue are very excited about their latest endeavor, "Border Grill Truck," a food truck.

Susan launched her first solo venture of her 30 year career in 2009, "STREET," serving food from cultures all over the world. The veteran of 396 episodes of "Two Hot Tamales" on Food Network (1995-9) has been featured on FN's "Chefs vs. City," and "Top Chef Masters," recently, on BRAVO.
