GREEN ZONE

Jerry Della Salla is currently seen in the newly released "Green Zone" film from Universal, as 'Sgt. Wilkins,' who is the right hand man of 'Miller,' played by Matt Damon.

The movie is about a US Army officer who goes rogue after discovering covert and faulty intelligence as he hunts for Weapons of Mass Destruction in an unstable region, a case of art imitating life for Jerry. He signed up for the Reserves after 911, and found himself serving in the Middle East, in Iraq, during OIF-3 as a member of the 306th MP Battalion that had the task of replacing the units responsible for the scandals that the movie was based on.

Jerry Della Salla served at Abu Ghraib from late 2004, through most of 2005, both as frontline MP and Medical Administrator, and was wounded in action during a base attack that occurred on April 2, 2005, now widely known as the "Battle at Abu Ghraib."

Before joining the army and after returning home, Jerry acted in off-Broadway production and independent films when he heard that the "Green Zone" director, Paul Greengrass, was looking to cast actual veterans in the film. He went in and got the part. Jerry studied acting with Stella Adler, and graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
