"Everyone should laugh at least once a day!"

Mark Pitta is a national headliner coming from the fervent San Francisco comedy scene of the 1980's. He remembers an incident signaling his destiny to be a comedian. His visiting mom came into the room during the last bloody scene of "Scarface," and stated, "That's a lovely house."

Mark's career flourished in LA, first, fulfilling his dream of appearing on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson then subsequent appearances with Jay Leno. Mark also landed a job as host of "Totally Hidden Video" for the FOX network, playing different characters in hidden camera situations and then hosting "Friday Night Videos" for NBC. His guest appearances include "Mad About You" and "Third Rock From the Sun."

A favorite on the comedy club; college; and corporate circuit, Mark has also opened for Chris Issak, Celene Dion, Vanessa Williams, Paul Anka, Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton John, Smokey Robinson, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and Rick Springfield.

Every Tuesday in Mill Valley, Ca. Mark runs a comedy showcase at the 142 Throckmorton Theatre. "Mark Pitta and Friends" has evolved over the past four years into a premiere comedy showcase for both up-and-coming comedians and established headliners. Each Tuesday is a mixed bag of stand-up, but you might also see sketches, improv, music, and video. Luminaries include Dana Carvey, Robin Williams, Richard Lewis, Mort Sahl, Arj Barker, Jack Gallagher, Hal Sparks, Dick Gregory and Kevin Nealon.

Mark's beloved "Throck" is in danger of closing, and he is hosting a benefit on Tuesday, November 17, at 8 pm. For donations and information, please go to: http://www.142throckmortontheatre.org
