After being crowned Miss India U.S.A. She was selected by Amitabh Bachchan Corp. Ltd. as one of the budding new stars out of 60,000 contestants. She has acted in over 10 feature films, numerous television shows, and major ad campaigns. She received the Screen Actor's Guild Emerging Actor award for her starring role in “Flavors”. She has been the spokesperson for major ad Campaigns such as Bombay Dreams, Tata True Roots, Pearl Vision, Dodge, New York Lotto, and Outback Steakhouse, Pepsi, Campbells Soup, And Verizon.

Her films include: “Kaadhal Rojave,” “Night of Henna”, “Chota Jaadugar”, “Flavors”, “Hiding Divya”, “Bollywood Beats”, “Anything for You”, “Knots Urbane”, “Park Sharks”, and “Drawing with Chalk”. Her other TV appearance includes playing assistant District Attorney on "Law and Order," with Kal Penn known for the "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" Franchise. Pooja recently hosted a show for Zee TV called "Jaago aur Jeeto," a live program for 2 hours every day. Her Pakistani TV Serials for Geo TV and Hum TV have been widely appreciated. Pooja has also produced and starred in 2 short films: “1001 Auditions” and “Shoot my Life.” They have been accepted in over 15 international film festivals.

In Pooja's latest project, "Bollywood Hero," for the IFC network, she plays the romantic lead opposite Chris Kattan from "Saturday Night Live," with Julian Sands, Keanu Reeves, Maya Rudolf, and David Allan Grier doing cameos. Appearing from Bollywood: Neha Dhupia, Rachna Shah, Ali Faizel, as well as the same line production team as "Slumdog Millionaire," which included line producer, Tabrez Noorani.
