JOANNA CASSIDY

OF CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED "HAWTHORNE"

Starting as a print model in San Francisco, when Cassidy made the move to Los Angeles, she landed memorable roles in "Stay Hungry," "The Late Show," Ridley Scott's cult classic, "Blade Runner," and Roger Spottiswoode’s "Under Fire." She played Bob Hoskins' romantic partner in Robert Zemeckis' "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" and co-starred in such films as "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead," "Chain Reaction," "Dangerous Beauty," "Ghosts of Mars," and others.

On the small screen, Cassidy's role as the TV director in "Buffalo Bill," opposite Dabney Coleman earned her an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe Award. She had recurring roles on such television classics as "Falcon Crest," "LA Law," "Melrose Place," and "Diagnosis Murder," to name a few, and many TV movies and miniseries, such as "Hollywood Wives," "Barbarians At The Gate," and "Martha, INC: THe Story Of Martha Stewart."

Most recently, Cassidy was recognized for her standout role in the successful HBO series "Six Feet Under," where she played ‘Margaret Chenowith,’ the acerbic, amoral, self-obsessed psychologist mother of ‘Brenda’ and ‘Billy.’ Ms. Cassidy now co-stars with Jada Pinkett Smith and Michael Vartan in the new critically acclaimed TNT series “Hawthorne,” and will soon be in three feature films: "Stolen," opposite Jon Hamm and Josh Lucas; "The Human Contract," with Jada Pinkett, Ted Danson, and Paz Vega, and a comedy, "STAY COOL," as Winona Ryder's mother.
