From a listener: Hi Marty, If I was a radio producer I'd hire you to do a nationally syndicated 1-hour show, with a name like "45's On The Air" or something. You have that great mix of a friendly on-air voice, your are knowledgeable about the music, and of course have a great ear for finding the hits(common and rare) that are on the handy 45 rpm format. In this "modern age" of iPods, MP3's and all the other doo-dads, it's refreshing to hear you spinning real 45's. As you probably know, most radio stations DJ booths these days are nothing more than a few laptops playing downloaded music; no records, no cassettes, no reel-to-reel tapes, very few CDs, no 8-track carts for commercials and PSA's... just a cold room with a small mixing board, those lap tops and a small mic for the ocassional live DJ to talk(and even that is pre-recorded most of the time). Any way, I salute your efforts and really like your 15-minute radio show. Now, if we could just make it 60 minutes and have it be heard nationally on real, table top radios! Best wishes, Hunter (a worker in the motion picture industry since 1981)

Artcarfest writes: Your 45 record show is the greatest! Cool that you started this one with a song by the Shirelles. I worked as a limo driver for a year in the Seattle area(1994). I got a call from a Casino to go pick up a group of women at the airport and take them up to an Indian Casino. It turned out to the The Shirelles! The other's slept in the car but Shirley was lively and talkative and we sang a few tunes together. She talked about going trout fishing soon with her husband. The next day when I took them back to the airport I brought Shirley a smoked salmon and she loved it. She signed an LP record for me and a few weeks later sent me a case of wine and a nice note. That same month I also drove for other casino performers: The Coasters and The Drifters. Granted, most of these groups have maybe only one orig. member, and there even may be 2 or 3 groups touring the country called The Coasters, but Shilrey and the other gals seemed to be the real thing. I'll come to you when I'm ready to stock my own jukeboxes! best wishes for 2008 and thanks for all of the great music and comments you provide to so many out here in radioland, Hunter
