Today's program featured an interview with David Reiner, president of the Friends of the Everglades organization - www.everglades.org. David Reiner is a lawyer in South Florida with an environmental orientation. He talked about the State of Florida's plan to acquire the land now owned by U.S.Sugar - Big Sugar - to people in Florida and the Miami-Dade County proposal to move the urban development line further west, paving more of the Everglades.

Also on the show is Gabrielle Vincent who is in the northern part of Haiti, between Limonade and Cap Haitian. He phone connection was weak, so the audio level is uneven. I am unable to adjust levels, so you have to do it. Sorry. Gabrielle Vincent's organization - www.sonjeayiti.com - is working with farmers in the areas of agriculture and livestock breeding. Her 'pet' project is providing goats to the goatless.

Nadine was at the Mid-century Gallery at 3404 North Miami Avenue in the Wynwood / Midtown Miami Arts District talking with people about the reforestation of Haiti and the ARToire Project that features furniture art painted by Paulette Lust, Bobby Franano, Donny Garcia, Eugene Charron and members of the Junior Green Leaves Club at Hubert O. Sibley Middle School in North Miami. Take a look at www.oglhaiti.com.
