With her fashion influences stemming from Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and New York, Ekiuwa Asemota,(pronounced “Eh-Key-Wa”), or Eki for short, began designing her own clothes and jewelry at the tender age of 18. Her designs are defined as street yet urban couture. Learn more about Eki and her contributions to an upcoming world project. Listen all February as I continue to celebrate Black History Month bringing awareness to issues in the black community as well as spotlighting men/women of color in the arts, media, and entertainment industries to name a few.
