Off Stage....On Air

Keep checking with us...we will have some fun interviews soon!

Off Stage...On Air

We are just two ladies who love broadway and theater in general, and are going to do our best to get you some great interviews from the stage.

  • On Demand Episodes

    Original Air Date:

    Lindsay Mendez Interview

Watch out for Lindsay Mendez to be one of Broadway's future big stars. She is already getting people excited with her portrayal of Jan, in the revival of "Grease" on Broadway. As one of the pink ladies, she reminds us of why we fell in love with the movie years ago!

  • Original Air Date:

    Broadway Composer Charles Strouse Interview

Charles Strouse, the musical composer of such Broadway hits as Annie, Bye Bye Birdie and Rags has written his memoirs in his new book "Put on a Happy Face." He sat down with us, at his home, to talk about how far he has come from a young man trying to find his way in the music world to the music legend he is today.

  • Date / Time:

    Talking To Charles Strouse

It's Rachel again,  Isa and I just did an interview with the legendary Charles Strouse.  He was the musical composer of Broadway shows such as: "Annie", "Bye Bye Birdie", "Golden Boy" and "Rags".    He worked on the film scores for "Bonnie and Clyde" and a movie cartoon favorite of mine "All Dogs Go To Heaven."

I could keep on writing of his accomplishments but I would rather just tell you to pick up his book "Put on a Happy Face, A Broadway Memoir."  in stores now.

Mr. Strouse was absolutely lovely to talk to and I wish I had a full afternoon with him to just chat.   His office is full of posters from his various works and again I wish I had another full afternoon just in his office to look at everything.

Stay tuned and Isa and I will post our interview with him as soon as we edit!

[title of show] show's Heidi Blickenstaff and Hunter Bell

The fantastic new Broadway Musical [title of show] is attracting major attention. With five actors, four chairs and a keyboard they are giving much larger shows a run for their money! We sat down with two of its actors Heidi Blickenstaff and Hunter Bell to get the lowdown on the show that is going higher and higher.

  • Date / Time:

[title of show] show's Hunter Bell and Heidi Blickenstaff

    Hello Everyone,

Rachel here, of the duo Rachel and Isa.  We just sat down with Hunter Bell and Heidi Blickenstaff of Title of Show, the new Broadway musical.  Their show is really taking off and after talking to them it is easy to see why.  Hunter and Heidi were such a great interview.

Isa and I got to the Lyceum theater stage door around 6:15 and met the press agent for the show.  We watched Hunter go in before us and he stopped to talk to some fans outside the door (what a sweetheart)!  We finally made our way up the stairs to what is called the green room for the theater.  There were so many cards and gifts from the fans all neatly arranged.  The mirror was covered in cards...you fans sent some cute stuff in!

Hunter came in first and Heidi soon followed (she thought we were doing the interview in the downstairs greenroom).  They were both just lovely and you will have to listen to the interview to see what we talked about.  The highlight of the evening for me was all four of us asking Julie Andrews to come see the show....so if you know her send her to the Lyceum!

It was over all too soon and the actors were off to prepare for the show. Check out the [title of show] website for all the information http://www.titleofshow.com/tickets.html.

    -Rachel
