Livia Perez Borrero is an Emmy nominated producer, founder and former president of Latino TV Broadcasting Service. She has been directing and producing television, theatre and film projects since 1980. Among her most notable projects was the innovative PBS series entitled Oye Willie, and a special dance drama entitled, El Baquine De Angelitos Negros also for PBS. These works received high praise and El Baquine De Angelitos Negros was nominated for an Emmy. After fifteen years of creating and producing not-for-profit programming, Livia transitioned into feature film production. She is now developing and producing feature film and television projects. In The Southland, by Beth Harris, a feature with a character driven plot. Other feature projects in development – Feminine Protection, a romantic comedy by Phil Harnage and Kim Beatty, Out of Body, a supernatural action-adventure by Phil Harnage and Eleanor Burian-Mohr & Jack Hanrahan, Ladies of The Rose Tatoo by Elyse April, a drama about mothers in prison who break out of victim-hood by tattooing themselves with sacred images of “The Goddess”; A Taste of Madrid is a romantic comedy by Lisa Berman. Two other projects in script development are: Furnished Apartments, a murder mystery drama set in 1959 and Raoul’s Dream, a science fiction drama about the creation of the world. Prior to these ventures, Ms. Perez-Borrero produced several short projects including Week-end Encounter, Table Manners and Wedding Album, which is having a successful run in the festival circuit. Table Manners is being distributed by the Mini Movie Channel. She also worked as a Production Supervisor on independent features including, Beyond Suspicion - Franchise Pictures, The Virgin Suicides – American Zoetrope, and the HBO movie The Rat Pack. Ms. Perez-Borrero is a member of the Director’s Guild of America, the Producer’s Guild of America, NALIP, and is listed in “Who’s Who of American Women”.
