Marilynn Garzione was born in Alexandria, Minnesota and spent many of her childhood years on military bases where her father served as a chaplain in the Air Force. Marilynn received a Masters Degree from Middlebury College in Vermont, and has lived in both Puerto Rico and Spain. She is the author of numerous publications in the field of education, has taught for several years at the State University of New York/Language Immersion Institute, and currently teaches at Vassar College in New York. Marilynn has appeared on national television as a dedicated advocate for Alzheimer’s awareness, and continues to speak out for research that can lead to new medicines and an eventual cure. The loss of both her father and her husband to this disease inspired her to write, Released to the Angels. Her book is a reflection of her positive attitude and belief that life presents moments of joy and pain and, that in experiencing both, we can come to a greater understanding and acceptance of the gifts that surround us.
