OUR COMMON GROUND

Presents Kwanzaa is a weeklong celebration held in the United States honoring universal African-American heritage and culture, observed from December 26 to January 1 each year. It features activities of celebration, feast and gift giving. Families and communities come together in imagination, meditation and mindfulness to weigh the greatness of the past and the possibilities of the future for Black people throughout the Diaspora. The first Kwanzaa was celebrated in 1966 - 1967.
