We're back after a brief Labor Day weekend break, and recapping some recent NY-area hip hop events including the 13th anniverdary of the End of the Weak weekly open mic showcase, and the album release party for the Bronx's YC The Cynic.

We'll preview a couple of upcoming events including the PitchBlak Brass Band album release and the return (sort of) of Freestyle Mondays.

Also, we'll be reminding people about our very first BIRTHPLACE MAGAZINE READER APPRECIATION PARTY going down on Monday, Septemer 16th, at Bowery Electric in conjunction with the good folks at Mobile Mondays. Free party, DJs (including show host Manny Faces) spinning 45s all night, it's not to be missed!
