According to cognitive anthropologist Dr. Bob Deutsch, there are four key tenets to keep top of mind when developing your marketing and branding campaigns: 1) Emotion controls the mind as it did when humans first came on the scene; 2) People react much more emotionally than companies dare to think; 3)  Purchasing decisions are never driven by logic alone; and finally 4) Emotion and narrative are critcial and, in fact, they are the very structure of mind and of human nature. Meet Dr. Bob, a specialist in communication and culture who has worked on Pennsylvania Avenue, Madison Avenue and in the primeval forest. The Ad Club of New York has referred to him as “a truly revolutionary thinker.” And Adam Morgan, in Eating the Big Fish, has called Bob a profound analyst of human nature and American culture. After years of studying how people in many different cultures and countries create beliefs and attachments, he founded Brain Sells and now works with companies to reinvent how they conceive of, and assess, the mind and mood of their relevant publics in order to maximize the company’s return on investment. He has contributed articles on human nature, the cultural moment and marketing to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Chicago Tribune, The Boston Globe and The National Geographic Magazine. His commentaries have appeared on ABC’s Nightline, Good Morning America, and on the PBS series, Rights & Wrongs. To find out much more about his extraordinary career, go to www.brain-sells.com
