As part of April’s National Poetry Month celebration, the American Academy of Poets has declared April 26th Poem in Your Pocket day. "The idea is simple," the Academy explains at its website. "Select a poem you love during National Poetry Month then carry it with you to share with co-workers, family, and friends." This week's NWP Radio episode will feature Joshua Mitchell, a youth poet at Figment.com, and Katie Robbins, Director of Educational Programming at Figment; Bud Hunt, teacher consultant with the Colorado State University Writing Project, who every April for the last four years has posted poetry prompts at his blog; Chris Tsang and students from his Boston Middle School, who competed in a slam poetry event; and Grant Faulkner, Executive Director of the Office of Letters and Light, the organization behind NaNoWriMo and ScriptFrenzy. Bring out your poems and your love of poetry for this great episode!
