This summer, eight teachers from three writing project sites spent a month in Chicago exploring the power of systems-thinking to support students in the way they learn, make, and write. This project, called “Grinding New Lenses”, involved teachers in their own learning and thinking about systems, followed by an opportunity to lead a summer camp with youth from the surrounding area. It was supported by the MacArthur Foundation’s Digital Media and Learning Initiative and was organized by researchers from Indiana University along with educators from the Institute of Play and the Digital Youth Network.
Join this group of educators on NWP Radio on August 25th to hear what kinds of new lenses they created together!
