Nutmeg's Mix  

Nutmeg’s Mix is a show about whatever Nutmeg feels like saying or playing. Nutmeg rambles alot and plays mostly independent/local music, and also some mainstream music too. Originally, the show was about the listener, and the many talents that you may have out there. She wants to feature musicians, poets, cosplay, visual artists, video gamers, sports, film makers, comedians – hobbies and talents of all types. Every show is a sort of an open-mic night, and there was supposed to be a discussion on a specific issue each show. Nutmeg still would like to run her show this way, however since there's not a whole lot of audience participation, what's a gal to do? Nutmeg understands you do have better things to do on a Friday night than listen to Internet Radio, and it's all good :) In the future, she would like to do live interviews with bands and other folks Nutmeg knows who are very talented individuals. ABOUT ME: I'm a full-time office/desk jockey by day and an internet junkie by night. I have been married 4 years and have a daughter who is 4. I also host an internet radio show every Friday at 10:30PM EST where I talk about random topics and plug the sh*t out of everyone's original work or small business, and play many local/independent artists' music, (not necessarily local to my area, but all areas). No matter how small they may seem, I believe that everyone should follow their dreams, whether they get actual recognition or not, because recognition does not equate to accomplishment. My show gives people a platform if they choose to call in and talk about what they do that makes them special. I also have been writing since childhood and finally compiled my poetry & short stories into a book, titled "Maddening The Silence." Samples from the book to be posted soon in blogs.     Nutmeg started off the show by clucking like a chicken for several minutes. She then explained that her co-worker came to work in a chicken costume and described her fun day at work, as she herself went to work dressed as Michael Jackson. Nutmeg discussed Halloween-its history, folklore, costumes, and traditions. She read most of the facts from The History Channel's website, and spoke of stories her grandfather told her about Mischief Night and how it was in the 1930s. Nutmeg diverted and spoke about October holidays in general- particularly Columbus Day, and how he really didn't discover America, just introduced it to the rest of the world, and with his ignorant reporting of finding "savages", brought on an extermination of many indigenous cultures. Luisa PintoPereira called in all the way from Portugal to somewhat debate Nutmeg on this issue, and both Luisa and Nutmeg discussed Brazilians and their individual experiences and beliefs. Luisa recommended that Nutmeg read "Carta de Pêro Vaz de Caminha", and Nutmeg is very intrigued and really wants to read it. They called in from B Button's phone which was pretty staticky and difficult to hear them, and Nutmeg lost them at first. Both B Button and A Button suggested doing a supershow - two simultaneous broadcasts, same studio, and make it a huge party, on November 10th, as all 3 of them are off from work on November 11th for Veterans' Day.     Nutmeg really doesn't care that the Philadelphia Phillies made it to the World Series 2 years in a row.     Nutmeg ran through her usual list of plugs, the same way she starts off every show. She announced to her listeners,and apologized to her independent and local artists for yet again not uploading new music, but this night was all about mainstream music having to do with crazy, nuts, insane, and psycho - all things loony! Nutmeg announced that she may be doing a Wacky Wednesday segment with the cast & crew of The JumpButton Show- they're going to try next week. She will however most likely continue to do her Friday night music show. Nutmeg talked about Halloween and announced that she is going to be Michael Jackson this year and may throw a party next week.     Escape Clothes

    Nutmeg had some technical difficulties from the get-go: it took her 3 times to play her intro music, and when she tried to play J Will's "Already Know", the switchboard would only play the first few seconds and stop. After 4tries she gave up. Nutmeg defines "Escape Clothes": getting showered, dressed and the whole nine yards and going to bed that way, so all one has to do when he/she wakes up, is roll out of bed, throw some shoes on, stick a comb through the hair and a brush to the teeth. Nutmeg wears escape clothes quite often because it is a huge time saver in the mornings, and she doesn't care if you think she's a dirtball. She apologizes for not being prepared for this episode, even though she had 2 weeks to prepare because she didn't do a show last week, but Nutmeg was tired. Nutmeg talked about her recent vacation to Tuckerton NJ and played some tunes, and intermittently rambled. Nutmeg also went to to say that she found a cheap copy place online, and once she places the order, will gladly send a free copy of her book of poetry and short stories to anyone who is interested.     That's right- I know I've said something about this a couple of months ago, but I am now ready to start interviewing talented people like yourselves on my internet radio show. Normal air time is Friday nights @ 10:30PM EST-12:30AM EST, however, I can schedule a show any night during the week or a weekend afternoon if Fridays dont' work for you. So if you're in a band, an individual musician, visual artist, model, writer, filmmaker, photographer, comedian, sports player, actor/actress, dancer, psychic, small business owner, another internet radio host - any and all talents/gifts/ hobbies/ businesses are welcome and can be interviewed. It doesn't matter if you're signed, unsigned, well-known or unknown - This is your chance to get more exposure and plug the hell out of whatever you do. Many of you on my friends' list, I've been playing your music and/or plugging your stuff already. And if I haven't played your song at least once, don't worry, I'll get to yours soon. So far, my shows have consisted of me reading off a laundry list of plugs and talking about random topics and playing independent/local music - and not just local to my area- I don't discriminate! After 4 months of doing the show, I am ready and willing to conduct interviews, and take callers to ask questions live on the air( that is, if you're comfortable with that).
