Nutmeg's Mix

Nutmeg’s Mix is a show about whatever Nutmeg feels like saying or playing. Nutmeg rambles alot and plays mostly independent/local music, and also some mainstream music too. Originally, the show was about the listener, and the many talents that you may have out there. She wants to feature musicians, poets, cosplay, visual artists, video gamers, sports, film makers, comedians – hobbies and talents of all types. Every show is a sort of an open-mic night, and there was supposed to be a discussion on a specific issue each show. Nutmeg still would like to run her show this way, however since there's not a whole lot of audience participation, what's a gal to do? Nutmeg understands you do have better things to do on a Friday night than listen to Internet Radio, and it's all good :) In the future, she would like to do live interviews with bands and other folks Nutmeg knows who are very talented individuals. If you are interested in being a special guest on the show in the future, where we'd have an entire show dedicated you, or you have a topic you want to talk about, or you have any requests, please send her an email at schwartzmeg@yahoo.com or call in whenever live on air at 347-633-9372.

Show Notes

ABOUT ME: I'm a full-time office/desk jockey by day and an internet junkie by night. I have been married 4 years and have a daughter who is 4. I also host an internet radio show every Friday at 10:30PM EST where I talk about random topics and plug the sh*t out of everyone's original work or small business, and play many local/independent artists' music, (not necessarily local to my area, but all areas). No matter how small they may seem, I believe that everyone should follow their dreams, whether they get actual recognition or not, because recognition does not equate to accomplishment. My show gives people a platform if they choose to call in and talk about what they do that makes them special. I also have been writing since childhood and finally compiled my poetry & short stories into a book, titled "Maddening The Silence." Samples from the book to be posted soon in blogs. For your free copy, please email me at schwartzmeg@yahoo.com.

    Date / Time:

Mime P0rn - original air date 9/12/09 11PM EST - had to get deleted

Nutmeg and Mr. Cock Button were child-free on this Saturday evening when the show aired, and were joined by Marisa and Josh. They did a couple of Bailey's and Expresso-Vodka shots, followed by many jagerbombs and beer. Marisa had brought her guitar to Suburban Studios and thought it'd be cool to do a drunk btr show and play her guitar. So Nutmeg scheduled a show called Mime P0rn for 11pm, so everyone would be good and drunk for the show. The reason for calling it Mime P0rn is that Marisa has a p0rn DVD which has a segment of mimes getting it on, which Nutmeg finds hilarious, yet still has yet to watch the video. At any rate, by the time the show began, Marisa was yakking in the bathroom and Josh had passed out outside on Angie's plastic playhouse. So Nutmeg and Mr. Cock Button basically co-hosted this show. However, Mr. Cock Button made some rather offensive remarks that Nutmeg didn't want to get kicked off of BTR for, so she decided and declared pretty much at the beginning of the show that this Mime P0rn episode was getting deleted from BTR archives. They played a couple songs, and had a couple of callers as well as some BTR chatroom participants. One particular chatter expressed his/her dislike for Nutmeg, by stating that Nutmeg looks like an old wh0re from Virginia and is a cracker-ass b*tch. Nutmeg's response: "No one is begging you to listen sweetie!" Eventually Nutmeg had enough of that person's antics and booted that individual from the chatroom. Kenneth R from "The Kenneth R Discussion Program" was also in the chatroom, but due to technical difficulties, could not stay, so he called in instead and was rather intrigued by the existence of the Mime P0rn genre. Ms. Vodou's brother also called into the show, and referred to Nutmeg as "Betty Cracker" and questioned Nutmeg why she calls herself such. "I am a nut, and my name is Meg, so there you have it." Someone else called in, but Nutmeg couldn't understand them and they wound up disconnecting themselves. Kenneth R continued conversation by discussing Philly Zinefest and also a little political talk came about. In light of the Zinefest conversation, Nutmeg brought up how she has finished her chapbook and is willing to give copies away for free to those who are interested. The book is entitled Maddening The Silence  and it is mostly Nutmeg's poetry and short stories, along with an interview and a couple of photographs. If anyone is interested in owning this collective work, you may email Nutmeg at schwartzmeg@yahoo.com .  Music played:  - AC/DC-"Highway to Hell" - Adam Sandler-"The Mayor of P*ssytown" - Americans in a Basement-"They Said There Would Be Cake" - Angie-"ABC's" - Drop Anchor-"Juxtaposition"; Callers: Kenneth R from Philadelphia PA from "The Kenneth R Discussion Program", Ms. Vodou's brother, unidentified caller with 301 area code; Online BTR chatroom: Kenneth R from "The Kenneth R Discussion Program", Ms. Vodou, Sircherry, Vince in the Bay from "Megashow" and "Re-Up With  Vince" show, angryblackmanradio, Ronnie Rucker from the "Beneath Everything" show

Special thanks to Sircherry and Michael Long from the"Journey Into The Light" show for their kind words and advice :)
