Nutmeg's Mix

Nutmeg’s Mix is a show about whatever Nutmeg feels like saying or playing. Nutmeg rambles alot and plays mostly independent/local music, and also some mainstream music too. Originally, the show was about the listener, and the many talents that you may have out there. She wants to feature musicians, poets, cosplay, visual artists, video gamers, sports, film makers, comedians – hobbies and talents of all types. Every show is a sort of an open-mic night, and there was supposed to be a discussion on a specific issue each show. Nutmeg still would like to run her show this way, however since there's not a whole lot of audience participation, what's a gal to do? Nutmeg understands you do have better things to do on a Friday night than listen to Internet Radio, and it's all good :) In the future, she would like to do live interviews with bands and other folks Nutmeg knows who are very talented individuals. If you are interested in being a special guest on the show in the future, where we'd have an entire show dedicated you, or you have a topic you want to talk about, or you have any requests, please send her an email at schwartzmeg@yahoo.com or call in whenever live on air at 347-633-9372.

Show Notes

ABOUT ME: I'm a full-time office/desk jockey by day and an internet junkie by night. I have been married 4 years and have a daughter who is 4. I also host an internet radio show every Friday at 10:30PM EST where I talk about random topics and plug the sh*t out of everyone's original work or small business, and play many local/independent artists' music, (not necessarily local to my area, but all areas). No matter how small they may seem, I believe that everyone should follow their dreams, whether they get actual recognition or not, because recognition does not equate to accomplishment. My show gives people a platform if they choose to call in and talk about what they do that makes them special. I also have been writing since childhood and finally compiled my poetry & short stories into a book, titled "Maddening The Silence." Samples from the book to be posted soon in blogs. For your free copy, please email me at schwartzmeg@yahoo.com.

    Date / Time:

    Tweet this, motherf*cker!

Eff the internet. yeah. I see there is a twitter link on this site now - wtf? WTF is a "twitter?"
"I'm all a twitter!" is what a polish nun in my high school said once.

Seeing the "tweet this" link on blogtalkradio has inspired this rant, which stems from my first blog about my internet-government conspiracy theory. Check it out when you get a chance, if you care to.

Twitter, myspace, facebook, friendster, classmates.com - all of those site can kiss my a**. I found that whilst on facebook for those measely 2 weeks I was a member, there was so much hypocrisy and links to other "networking" sites, it just p*ssed me off to no end. Then I came up with my "conspiracy theory" and deleted all of the accounts to sites to which I belonged and said eff it.  I found people on them put way too much information about themselves, more than I needed or ever wanted to know. And those who were former myspacers who said "myspace is gay", wound up on facebook, just to highlight even moreso their stupidity and hypocrisy. I admit, I was a frequent myspacer for over 3yrs, who blogged constantly and was all up in people's business, but when I saw those individuals who ditched myspace for facebook, ("it's gay", "it's a waste of time" "putting your personal information online is dumb" etc) it just proved to me even more that ALL of these sites are a waste of time and energy. So I ended my hypocrisy, with all my sarcastic surveys and my nosiness.

I remember when facebook first came out, it was only for college students- it discriminated against those like myself who recently graduated from college but wanted to join - you couldn't join unless you were in college currently. To me, after being on facebook for those 2 weeks, it just proved that all of these so-called networking/friend sites are so full of sh*t - nothing more than a race of who-can-be the-biggest-internet-retard. I don't give a f*ck how many friends you have, or how many vacations you went on with your 500 pictures, or when's the last time you took a sh*t, or how cute you THINK your brats are. And I'm sure you don't give a rat's a** about me or what I do either. I had people requesting me to be their "friend", and I had to sit and think hard as to who the f*ck they were - mostly folks I graduated elementary school with, the same elementary school I only attended for eighth grade only - and these people didn't say boo to me 15 years ago. So why should they give a f*ck what I'm doing now?

And God forbid you express a genuine opinion on any of them - you get your ass chewed out big-time. I remember once I wrote a bulletin & a blog about when the Spice Girls came to town, and how the news referred to them as "legends". Well, they're not f*cking legends at all, just a bunch of overdressed, English whores who claimed "girl powa". Well, my husband re-posted my rant, and some b*tch that was on our friends' lists( a friend-of-a-friend we met like one time) got all offended and called him a moron for getting so hyped about it. I commented, saying- who the eff is that, just delete her stupid a** from your friends' list.  Internet wars are lame, and even lamer that you can't even express an opinion without someone getting offended.

I was told via email by a friend that he emailed me b/c I'm not in the "cool facebook/text-messaging crowd". I corrected his statement with "I'M TOO COOL for any of that" lol. Don't get me started on text messaging either - another complete waste of time. My theory is, if you have something to tell me, hit "send" and call me for christ's sakes. I don't have the patience to text back, so I went and blocked not only sending text messages, but I cannot receive them either. Why should I have to pay for text messages to be received that I don't want in the first place? So text away to me, I just won't get them. I'm not being rude for not responding, I just didn't get your message.

Some of you may call me a hypocrite because I still chose to rant online on this site(and in the future, may post a survey or 2). Well all I can say is f*ck you and your politics. At least on this site, there's only information in my blogs, and whatever default picture (singular) I chose to disclose. And other than someone that's bored out there randomly reading this, only 4 people on this site may actually bother to read my crap, and perhaps an additional 2 or 3 others who told me personally that they missed my blogs or surveys, will actually bother to read my stuff on here and email me with comments, if any. I only have 3 "friends" on here, so there's no "popularity" race. Hell, my first and last name are not even stored in account settings on blogtalkradio. So I feel a little more safer about my privacy and freedom-of-speech, with of course the exception to the censorship - I still hate having to type asterisks in words like "f*ck" "sh*t" "c*nt" "p*ss", but oh well. It's all part of Big Brother's plan to stifle and limit so-called "freedom-of-speech."

    So enough of that.

Some updates: Angie hasn't had a nosebleed since the last time I blogged, nor did I purchase any nosebleeds either. We moved last week, and we're getting settled in. I'm digging the new crib big time. Special shout-out and thanks to all of you who helped us last Saturday - we are forever grateful to your kindness.  I still haven't finished my book yet. And I thoroughly enjoy JumpButton's weekly retro gaming show and Kenneth R's weekly discussion program - keep up the great work!
